How to pass your driving test by learning vital skills, managing nerves and taking mock tests
The government have recently published some information, tips and advice to help you pass your driving test, with their new “Ready to pass?” campaign. In February 2024 53 out of every 100 driving tests were failed in Great Britain! People often under-estimate how long it takes to learn to drive.
Many learner drivers take their driving test before they are ready, leading to failed tests, disappointment, extra costs and delays in getting on the road.
Their tips include ensuring that you have mastered the skills required, offer advice on managing driving test nerves, taking mock driving tests, as well as explaining what will happen on test day. There is also advice for those helping a learner so that you can get the most from your practice sessions.
At Geoff Capes Driving School we never put clients forward for their test until they are ready. Your driving instructor will help you decide if you are ready and discuss your progress, what you need to work on and help you to prepare for your test including dealing with any nerves.
