Driving Lessons in Stockport

Congratulations to Chris Seal, from Hazel Grove, Stockport, on passing his practical driving test in an automatic car on 28th May 2026, at the Bredbury Test Centre.

Chris, what a massive result today, you held your own and put to bed the test fail you had previously. You went into the test a little nervous, and you adapted your style to give yourself more time to talk yourself through certain situations. This paid off on the day, coming away with a well-deserved pass from Craig, the examiner.

Chris, what a pleasure it’s been being your driving instructor. We hit it off straight away, and this helped us shape our driving lessons each week. It’s been a great journey watching you learn each week and also becoming a parent for the first time.

We have had plenty of laughs along the way and plenty of chats about football and F1; I will miss these chats.

All the very best, searching for your first car and driving the family around, well, until Emma starts her lessons and takes over when she passes. I look forward to teaching her. All the best with your daughter, and I will see you for that motorway lesson, where I hold on for dear life!! Haha.

Congratulations to Charlotte Holt from Cheadle, Stockport, on passing her practical driving test in an automatic car on her very FIRST attempt on the 22nd May 2026, at the Bredbury Test Centre.

A very special pass for you today, Charlotte. This day has been coming for a long while. We started lessons almost 2 years ago. On your first day, you were very comfortable speaking with me and advising me that you are autistic. That conversation shaped our future lessons and helped me to understand how you feel and what you can manage to complete a subject. We always adapted the lesson to suit you and your needs. With each driving lesson, your knowledge grew and grew, and you felt confident enough to explore multitasking.

I want to thank you for helping me understand the autistic world and, more importantly, how you felt and what works for you. We worked very well together.

I am going to miss our chats and lessons each week, enjoy looking for your first car and having the independence of getting around.

Congratulations to Amy Jayne Elliott, from Offerton, Stockport, on passing her practical driving test in an automatic car on her very FIRST attempt on 14th April 2026, at the Bredbury Test Centre.

Amy, it’s been a pleasure being your driving instructor and watching you learn each week. You had challenges along the way, including not believing in yourself, self-doubt, and uncertainty at times during your drives. Today’s pass proves you can do it. Now you can rest easy, start believing in yourself, and drive confidently.

It’s been an amazing journey watching you become a mum for the first time and listening to your stories about the baby.

Leading up to test day, your nerves were playing a part in your driving lessons, and again, the self-doubt crept in by making errors. You were nervous on the day; however, having a joke with Angela, the examiner, eased these before you got in the car. On the test, you were relaxed and came away with that all-important pass.

I passed my test with Doug. He’s a very friendly guy who I’ve had great rapport with from the start. He’s incredibly knowledgable and his lessons were great which gave me the confidence to know I’m a good driver. Highly recommend Doug to anyone!

Doug is an amazing instructor he was so insightful and patient particularly in areas I struggled in and he made me feel at ease and confident in my ability even when I doubted myself. His teaching techniques were invaluable to me and his ability to tailor my lessons to accommodate my style of learning was so encouraging and played a huge role in helping me pass my test first time round.
