Learning to Drive Around Stockport

Recent Test Passes in Stockport
Congratulations to Zac Rothwell Holland, from Reddish, Stockport, on passing his practical driving test in an automatic car on his FIRST attempt on 9th September 2026 at the Bredbury Test Centre.
A double celebration for you passing today, Zac, being your birthday.
Zac, you started your journey doing manual lessons with my good colleague Simon; however, because of your own self-sabotage, you didn’t enjoy driving and made errors. Simon picked up on this and suggested that you would be suited to automatic lessons. You came my way, and what an incredible journey we have been on. We hit it off amazingly, and you settled down quickly driving an automatic and started to reduce the errors you would normally make in the manual car. This helped you start to enjoy driving and wanting to drive.
We had a good old laugh during our driving lessons, and being a blue always helps. I have loved every minute in the car with you, and as you said, I feel like I made a friend from the journey. We enjoyed a well-deserved drink to celebrate afterwards.
Have an amazing birthday evening with your family and milk every moment. Enjoy looking for your first car and whizzing up and down between stores.

I started my lessons with Geoff 6 months ago and it was the best decision I ever made I really struggled learning to drive due to my ADHD diagnosis and Geoff was very patient and understanding whilst helping me learn and I have thoroughly enjoyed learning to drive with Geoff Capes Driving School! And I have now passed my driving test , thanks Geoff for all of your help.

Congratulations to Georgia Wicks from Reddish, Stockport, on passing her practical driving test in an automatic car on her first attempt on 18th August 2026, at the Bredbury Test Centre.
Georgia, from day one, you were focused and confident to start driving; this showed in every driving lesson. You worked on your faults and didn’t dwell on them; instead, you were determined to fix them so you wouldn’t do it again.
You were a little nervous on the day, however you said that you settled down straight away and just drove as you would on a lesson, you came out on top with getting that all-important pass from Barry the examiner.
I have enjoyed our time spent in the car and will miss our chats and checking how your sister is. I will catch up with you soon for that motorway lesson. In the meantime, enjoy your first drive to the restaurant to celebrate with Robyn.

Just passed my driving test first time with Doug as instructor and I cannot recommend him enough. He is not only an incredible driving instructor but also an amazing person who made me feel very comfortable and had me looking forward to every lesson I had. Just passed my driving test with Doug after struggling for so long with previous instructors. I passed first time with only 3 minors with Doug after he was recommended to me by my sister (who also passed first time). He put me at ease straight away from our first lesson and explained everything really well and clearly. I couldn’t have done it without him and his support! I would recommend Doug to ANYONE learning to drive – he is a great instructor.
I passed my driving test first time with Doug, only 1 minor. cannot recommend a better instructor after trying with other company’s and not feeling comfortable. Doug really is patient and keeps you calm, so friendly and easy to speak too as well, highly recommend for anyone wanting to do driving lessons. Cannot thank you enough! The BEST!
