Our experienced and friendly driving instructors know the local roads and test centres extremely well, they will not only put you at your ease but will help guide you through your lessons and test. Together with your instructor, you will work out a course of lessons that are tailored to the way you learn so you progress quickly and enjoy your lessons, and to any deadline you may have for passing your test.

We offer both manual and automatic driving lessons in Stockport and the surrounding areas of Bredbury, Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall, Marple, Romiley and Hazel Grove. Whether you are a complete beginner or have had some lessons before our instructors will ensure that you are confident in your abilities in all circumstances from the smaller quiet roads to the busy and large roundabouts.

What a journey you have been on! This moment has been a long time coming. A massive shout out to Simon Forrest who you started your driving journey with in the manual car. After a number of lessons Simon advised you might be better suited to learning in an automatic and I took over.

You quickly became comfortable in the automatic car and your knowledge and skills were there in abundance. You were more confident on the day and managed your nerves. This showed in your test, coming out on top!

I have enjoyed getting to know you over the time spent in the car. Good luck getting your first car and taking yourself to dodgeball and other places.

Congratulations to Leigha Seager of Hazel Grove, Stockport, on passing her driving test in an automatic car on the 12th of March 2025 at Bredbury Test Centre with ZERO driving faults.

What a journey we have been on! Since day one we hit it off straight away, and I knew how it would go for the rest of the journey.
We had lots of learning with laughter. We even had tears, and you became a mum for the second time. We became good friends, which made it very easy for both of us to be honest and understand any wrong doings. You certainly brought the best out of my instructor skills.

You were really confident on the day and had your nerves fully under control. This showed in your test coming out on top, receiving zero driving faults. Although you thought you had failed as Barry the examiner, giving you those words, unfortunately, and continued to say you won’t see us again.

I have enjoyed getting to know you over the time spent on our driving lessons in the car and I will miss our Thursday morning lessons.

Congratulations to Libby Hinks from Strines, in Stockport who passed her driving test in an automatic car at her very FIRST attempt on the 12th March at Bredbury Driving Test Centre well done Libby.

The public transport near where Libby lives is infrequent. She attends college and works part time, often having to rely of family for lifts. Now she will be able to drive herself which will be much more convenient.

It started well over a year ago looking for an instructor. I struggled to find one which was right for me, (some think you’re 17 years old and can talk to you how they want). I am 33 and by chance my Mum bumped into Simon Forrest while shopping and Simon kindly rang me when he had evening availability. He quickly makes you feel settled in the car and understands your capabilities quickly and then guides you step by step to become the learner you need to be to pass your test. Excellent teaching strategies and professionalism from Simon and above all the patience and consistency needed to get you where you need to be, not everyone has them qualities especially when it cones to teaching . I can’t thank Geoff Capes driving school enough and my instructor Doug Walsh for helping me pass my driving test. He was so professional and patient with me, helping my confidence grow each week. Doug supported me throughout the 6 months I’ve been learning with him making sure I was consistent and feeling confident in everything I was doing. I just past my test first time with Goeff Capes Driving School. Must say it is an excellent service. Doug was fantastic instructor; he helped me improve my skills as well as my confidence on the road massively. I really enjoyed are lessons and getting to know him.
