FAQ’s

How much will I earn?

What you earn depends on the number of hours and days you choose to work, but assuming you work 6 hours a day for 5 days a week you could earn in the region of £1,140.

How will I get pupils?

If you join our busy driving school after you qualify our team take care of your diary and marketing.

Do I have to join your driving school when I qualify?

No, we would love to welcome you to our team, but we are happy to provide instructor training for those wishing to start their own business. If you do decide to join our team, we provide full back office support, new students and the flexibility to choose when you work as well as ongoing support and training.

What are the requirements to becoming a driving instructor?
  • You must be aged 21 or over
  • Have held a driving licence for at least three years
  • Complete and pass an enhanced criminal record and motoring conviction check
  • Have a passion to teach
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Enjoy driving
How much does training cost?

Full details are sent to you when you sign up to receive my free guide “Becoming a Driving Instructor” or get in touch for more information. There are three parts to the training and you pay for one part at a time.

What happens if I don’t pass one of the parts?

You have unlimited attempts at Part 1. Once you pass, you have two years to pass Parts 2 and 3, with up to three attempts at each. During this time, we work closely with you to identify and resolve any issues so you can move forward with confidence.

Is there enough work?

Demand for good driving instructors is high. We are a busy well established and trusted driving school, our instructors are very busy and we need more instructors to meet demand.

Can I train part time?

Yes, we can arrange your training around your work or family commitments.

How long does it take to become a driving instructor?

This really depends on the amount of time you can commit to your training. As a guide, you can expect to complete your course within six to nine months, however this can vary depending on the time you have to commit, your DBS approval and the availability of DVSA test dates.
