You had a strong start when we started in June. You continued to show your skills in every driving lesson, although you over-criticised your efforts and kept telling me to stop being so nice when providing feedback!! The extra practice in your own vehicle, or, as you say, the van, helped to build your independent skills.
On the day, your nerves were fully under control. You were up against it with the awful weather conditions and didn’t let it affect your driving. Mark, the examiner, gave you excellent feedback by saying you are a really good driver and giving you that all-important pass with just 2 faults.
I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you during our time spent in the car and will miss our Monday morning chats. Good luck driving yourself around without anyone accompanying you.

Oliver, you were so excited when you got in the car today. I’ve never seen anyone so enthusiastic about taking a driving test! You even told me that you’d seen your dream car online and put a hold on it. That’s how determined you were. I think that gave you even more focus – if that’s possible. You’ve been waiting for this a long time, and the extra hours you’ve put in practicing at the weekends with your girlfriend has certainly paid off. You really deserve this. What an absolute pleasure it’s been, being your driving instructor. you started driving lessons with me and quickly showed that your driving skills were excellent. Although you had no driving experience, you showed your skills to be as good as someone who’s had 20/30 hours.

What an absolute pleasure it’s been, being your driving instructor. you started your driving lessons with me after a poor experience with another instructor. We quickly settled down, and you knew straightaway that I was different.
On the day your nerves were somewhat high, however, you didn’t let this affect you by receiving 1 driving fault, also you were put under a little pressure by having to change routes mid test due to heavy traffic and having to carry out your manoeuvre in the test centre car park at the end.

I remember your first driving lesson; you were sceptical due to a poor experience with your last instructor, but you settled down very quickly. You knew instantly that I was very different and what you needed from an instructor. You were very disappointed to have your first test date cancelled days prior, however, you put this to one side and focused on making sure your driving skills improved to give you that pass. Leading up to the test date, you had to deal with a couple of weeks off due to well-deserved holidays, and then come back to a new car, you got used to the new car, and also new reference points for the manoeuvres, which helped you become more confident with them.
I have massively enjoyed getting to know you over the time spent in the car and will miss our endless chats about anything but anything. You have been an excellent learner.

What a journey we have been on! Since day one we hit it off straight away, and I knew how it would go for the rest of the journey.
We had lots of learning with laughter. We even had tears, and you became a mum for the second time. We became good friends, which made it very easy for both of us to be honest and understand any wrong doings. You certainly brought the best out of my instructor skills.
You were really confident on the day and had your nerves fully under control. This showed in your test coming out on top, receiving zero driving faults. Although you thought you had failed as Barry the examiner, giving you those words, unfortunately, and continued to say you won’t see us again.
I have enjoyed getting to know you over the time spent on our driving lessons in the car and I will miss our Thursday morning lessons.

I can’t take full credit for this test pass and I have to share this with Simon Forrest, You started your journey with Simon in the manual car, and after some time with Simon, it was apparent that you would benefit from moving over to automatic. This is where you started to feel a little more confident as you were able to take away elements such as gears and focus on the other elements in your driving. You were nervous on the day and leading up to test time more because you didn’t want to fail, although receiving a couple of faults you came out on top with Barry the examiner giving you that all-important pass.
